When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need. ~Ayurvedic proverb
Launching a new series about HEALTHY EATNG whether out or at home. Here are some tips on eating out, choosing the right restaurant, and what to take before and after your meal. Plus my Fav 3!
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT RESTAURANT
Fresh quality ingredients: food made out of fresh produce, organic when possible yet organic is not everything. Local and healthy sometimes is even better. Remember healthy food doesn’t need a lot of flavoring . MSG and artificial flavors are often added to mask bad quality.
Clean bathrooms: shows how conscientious the staff and owners are as well as an insight to how the kitchen is run. Dirty bathroom…… run
BEFORE THE MEAL
Take one digestive enzyme (shop here, or here) at the beginning of the meal. When eating out, bentonite clay ( my favorite here ) is also recommended as it has the capacity to absorb toxins and germs/bugs.
DURING THE MEAL
Limit drinking water. A little is okay but more water dilutes our stomach acid (hydrochloric acid, very important role in facilitating digestion) and makes it harder to digest food.
AFTER THE MEAL
There are other enzymes available as well but generally speaking HCL ( shop here or here) is your best friend. Undigested food can cause skin eruptions, allergies, headaches, tiredness and a myriad of other ailments.
Eating healthy does not mean you have to compromise flavor or budget ! Here are 3 restaurants that deliver quality food at budget-friendly prices.
Breakfast at Juiceland
My favorite items on the menu :
Lunch at Mudhen
Dinner at Flower Child
